My Services
Orton Gillingham*: OG is a proven, structured teaching approach to help children with all aspects of reading, and writing. The program has over 50 years of research supporting its method of instruction in helping children with dyslexia, but the methodology works with any learners who are struggling with literacy. In the OG program, children learn in a direct, explicit, multisensory, structured, sequential, diagnostic, and prescriptive format. Each lesson is individualized to meet the needs of the student. It is not a one lesson fits all cookie cutter program.
Tutoring*: I offer curriculum support to students from Grade 1-12. These services include helping students catch up on missed material, bridging gaps in learning, exam preparation, and essay writing.
Executive Functioning*: Time management, Organization, Note taking, and effective studying skills are crucial for life-long success. Coaching students in these areas will help them succeed in both school and life.
Homeschool Consulting*: Homeschooling your child does not need to be stressful. There are lots of curriculum choices available to support your efforts. I am also available to help teach supplemental lessons and provide activities that you might require to reinforce academic skills.
Cognitive Reasoning: Cognitive skills are the core skills that your brain uses to think, read, learn, remember, reason, and pay attention. Enhancing these skills positively affects all aspects of learning.
Fine Motor Development: Cutting with scissors, penmanship and neat printing begin with grip and having the necessary hand strength. Fun games and activities ensure students learn these skills that are essential for completing academic activities.
